By taking accurate measurements, you can ensure a perfect fit for your space and avoid any costly mistakes during the installation process
Expert Tips for Accurately Measuring Glass Railing Length
Before measuring for your railing, make sure you have the necessary tools on hand: a tape measure, pencil, and sheet or notepad.
Follow these steps for accurate measurements:
- Select the type of railing you are interested in. At CLG, we offer four types of railings
-
- Post System
- Base Shoe
- Spigot System
- Standoff System.
It’s important to choose the right type of railing, as it affects the final price and installation features.
- Use a tape measure to determine the length of the railing in linear feet. To calculate the price, we need the length of the railing along the steps and the length of the railing on a flat surface.
- Write down your measurements and preferences. A visual drawing or example of the railing you want can help us better understand your preferences.
- Choose your railing color and hardware so we can find the right fit for you. With these steps, you’ll be on your way to a perfectly measured and installed railing.
To give an example calculation: a Post System railing in chrome color, with a length of 6′ near the steps and 3′ on the horizontal part.
